Valle de Guadalupe International Film Festival begins in Baja California
The third edition of the Valle de Guadalupe International Film Festival (FICVG) has commenced in Baja California. Held from September 25 to 27 at the Museo de la Vid y el Vino, the festival honors Chicano director, actor, and producer Luis Valdez, the founder of El Teatro Campesino.
The event features a program that integrates cinema with wine culture, gastronomy, and the natural landscapes of the region. The opening ceremony included a harmonization ritual performed by members of the Kumiai and Cucapá indigenous communities. According to Alma Delia Ábrego Ceballos, Secretary of Culture of Baja California, the festival aims to create a dialogue between regional talent, national productions, and international cinema within a non-conventional setting.
