Valle del Giovenco launches initiative to protect bears via habitat restoration

An environmental initiative is being launched in Valle del Giovenco to protect the local bear population through habitat restoration. On October 31, volunteers and various associations will participate in an event titled “Pianta un melo, aiuta un orso” (Plant an apple tree, help a bear) in the Le Pratà area of Bisegna.

The project focuses on planting fruit trees and recovering orchards to provide natural food resources for bears and other wildlife species. The initiative is organized by the association PercOrsi Perduti in collaboration with groups including Salviamo l’Orso, Quelli di Amarena, Che fare Valle del Giovenco, and Rewilding Apennines. The event is supported by the Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise National Park and the Municipality of Bisegna.
