Valle del Giovenzano residents form committee to protest transit service cuts

Residents in the Valle del Giovenzano region have formed the ‘Comitato Trasporto Pubblico Locale Valle del Giovenzano’ to protest significant disruptions to local public transportation services. The committee represents commuters, workers, and students from Gerano, Ciciliano, Cerreto Laziale, Pisoniano, and Sambuci who rely on transit to reach Tivoli and Rome.

Following a service overhaul that began in July, residents report that Astral and Cotral have implemented reduced schedules, suppressed essential routes, and created overlapping service gaps. Protesters claim that since August, Cotral has cut several routes to Rome, making it difficult for workers to reach the capital. Additionally, the committee highlighted instances where services were suspended without prior warning or valid safety justifications, impacting those who had already purchased annual passes.
