Valle Hermoso adopts new flag designed by 19‑year‑old local student

The municipality of Valle Hermoso in Córdoba, Argentina officially unveiled its first municipal flag. The winning design was created by 19‑year‑old Fabricio Coledani, a full‑stack programming student, who entered the competition under the pseudonym “Duke”. His proposal was selected from 57 submissions in the province’s “Nuestra Bandera” program, with a jury chaired by Mayor Daniel Spadoni and representing local institutions.

The flag features a vertical brown stripe symbolising the mantle of San Antonio, the town’s patron, a sun with 19 rays for each neighbourhood, and three horizontal bands of red, yellow and green representing union, light and the surrounding serranías. The ceremony coincided with the Festival del Mate y los Sabores Serranos held in Plaza General Manuel Belgrano, where residents enjoyed local gastronomy, crafts and live performances by the folk group Ceibo.

The event marked a milestone in Valle Hermoso’s community identity, uniting residents around a shared symbol and cultural celebration.
