Valledupar activates security blocks to combat organized crime
Authorities in Valledupar, Colombia, have officially launched the Urban Security and Defense Blocks (BOSUD) strategy to combat organized crime. The initiative aims to strengthen the fight against extortion and homicide by coordinating the capabilities of the Public Force with local authorities.
The implementation was coordinated during a working meeting involving the Vice Minister of Defense for Defense and Security Policies, Claudia Carrasquilla Minami, the National Police Chief, Major General Ricardo Augusto Alarcón Campos, and Valledupar Mayor Ernesto Orozco Durán. The strategy is designed to reinforce institutional presence and operational capacity to respond more effectively to criminal structures operating in urban environments.
