Vallehermoso secures €370,000 for school upgrades and joins Canary Islands climate forum
The municipality of Vallehermoso on La Gomera will invest a total of €370,000 in its education centre (CEO Vallehermoso). The funding, provided under a cooperation agreement between the Cabildo de La Gomera and the Canary Islands government, will cover the replacement of the sports hall roof (€70,000) and a full upgrade of the electrical installations (€300,000). Mayor Emiliano Coello said the works continue a coordinated effort to improve public services and provide modern, safe facilities for students and community sports.
On 7 May, Vallehermoso also took part in the inaugural Regional Forum for Climate Action in the Canary Islands municipalities. The event gathered local authorities to discuss climate‑related challenges and to coordinate strategies across the archipelago.
Both initiatives reflect the town’s focus on enhancing infrastructure and addressing environmental concerns at the municipal level.
