Vallejo police investigate two shootings and a fatal crash

Vallejo police are investigating two separate shootings and an unrelated fatal vehicle crash that occurred within a 20-minute window on Tuesday morning.

The first shooting took place around 8:03 a.m. near Castlewood Drive and Springs Road. A man driving a gray Subaru was wounded and subsequently crashed into a black Toyota Camry. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Approximately 20 minutes later, at 8:23 a.m., a second shooting was reported in the 200 block of Marin Street. A man found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds later died at a hospital. Witnesses noted the victim was wearing work clothes from the post office.

Separately, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a fatal car accident occurred on Sonoma Boulevard and Solano Avenue, roughly 2.5 miles from the shooting sites. Police stated the crash involved a vehicle making an illegal U-turn that was broadsided by another car, resulting in one death. Authorities have not yet determined if the two shootings are related.
