Vallenar secures 50,000 liters of daily water for rural sectors

Authorities in Vallenar, Chile, have arranged for 50,000 liters of water per day to support the Buena Esperanza and Longomilla rural sanitary systems (APR). The measure aims to alleviate severe water supply restrictions affecting approximately 400 to 450 families, totaling over 1,000 people.

Deputy Cristián Tapia coordinated with Aguas Atacama to secure the daily supply, which will be split equally between the two sectors. Vallenar Mayor Víctor Isla noted that recent consecutive frontal systems have worsened the emergency, straining the municipality's ability to reach all 42 rural sectors with water trucks.
