Valletta prepares for Notte Bianca 2026 arts festival

Valletta is preparing for Notte Bianca 2026, a multidisciplinary arts and culture festival scheduled for Saturday, 3 October. The event will feature over 50 projects across the City Entrance, Castille, Hastings, and St George’s areas. The program includes music, dance, theatre, and visual arts, with a concluding concert titled ‘Minn Malta’ by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in St George’s Square. Minister for Arts, Culture and National Heritage Malcolm Paul Agius Galea noted that over 70% of the projects are new creations specifically for this edition.

Concurrently, Italian design is being highlighted in Malta through the 2026 edition of Italian Design Day. Running from 28 September to 3 October, the initiative includes participation in DesignMT, Malta’s primary trade fair for the sector. Organized by the Malta Crafts Foundation and supported by the Italian Embassy in Valletta and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), the event showcases furniture, lighting, and high jewelry. Recent data indicates growing Italian exports to Malta, with home furniture reaching 47.93 million euros in 2025 and kitchen systems seeing continued growth into 2026.
