Valley of the Temples Park launches first white wine, Grillo 2025
The Diodoros project, initiated by the Valley of the Temples Archaeological and Landscape Park, has introduced its first white wine, the Grillo 2025. Produced by CVA Canicattì, the wine is made from pure Grillo grapes grown in the valley at the foot of the Temple of Juno, approximately 60 meters above sea level.
The vineyards are situated on calcareous-clay soils and benefit from coastal breezes from the Agrigento coast. The 2025 harvest was influenced by spring rains and significant temperature fluctuations prior to collection, which producers say enhanced the grapes' freshness and aromatic qualities.
Roberto Sciarratta, director of the Park, noted that the wine is part of a larger initiative to promote excellence in the Agrigento province. The Diodoros brand now includes over thirty products—such as honey, citrus, oil, and saffron—all produced within the 1,300 hectares of the Park under regulations designed to protect the natural and cultural heritage of the site.
