Valls Firagost Fair Launches 70th Edition with New Family Activities

The Firagost agricultural fair in Valls, Catalonia, opened its 70th edition on Tuesday, 4 August 2024. Organisers – the Valls Chamber of Commerce and the city council – highlighted a gradual shift toward a modern model, adding a more fluid layout, a new space in the Quarter square and activities aimed at children and families.

During the inauguration, Chamber president Josep M. Rovira called Firagost “the expression of summer agriculture,” while Mayor Dolors Farré stressed that the celebration should look forward. Councilor of Enterprise and Labour Miquel Sàmper noted the sector’s need to adapt, and the president of the local agricultural cooperative, Josep Maria Aubareda, raised further primary‑sector requirements.
