Vallès Occidental Waste Consortium approves 2027 budget

The Vallès Occidental Waste Management Consortium has approved its 2027 budget, totaling 57,658,730.07 euros. This represents a 0.2% increase compared to the previous year. The budget is designed to maintain existing service levels while funding infrastructure modernization projects.

Approximately 30.63 million euros (53.12%) is allocated to waste treatment and collection services, while 24.33 million euros (41.86%) is designated for investments. The primary investment focus is the expansion and improvement of the Can Barba Biomethanization Plant, with 24 million euros earmarked for 2027. This project, supported by the Waste Agency of Catalonia, aims to increase treatment capacity and enhance the recovery of resources such as energy, nutrients, water, and materials from organic waste.
