Valmarecchia allocates 10,000 euros for home meal delivery

The Unione dei Comuni has allocated 10,000 euros from the regional fund for non-self-sufficiency to expand home meal delivery services in the Valmarecchia area, specifically targeting Santarcangelo di Romagna and Sant’Agata Feltria.

The initiative aims to support elderly individuals and adults with disabilities, helping them maintain autonomy in their own homes. The project, which previously served 15 people, intends to reach a total of 21 users by the end of 2026.

In Santarcangelo, meals are prepared at the Primavera nursery school and distributed via the Taxi Amico association. In Sant’Agata Feltria, meals are prepared at the local comprehensive institute and delivered by local volunteers. Beyond nutrition, the service serves as a welfare check to monitor the well-being and isolation levels of residents in remote areas.
