Valmet Automotive begins production of armored vehicles and buses

Valmet Automotive has commenced production of Patria 6x6 armored vehicles and Carrus Delta buses at its factory in Uusikaupunki, Finland. The company is gradually increasing production volumes throughout the remainder of the year.

CEO Pasi Rannus noted that the transition required significant investments in factory infrastructure, physical security, personal security, and cybersecurity. The start of production has allowed the company to recall some previously laid-off staff, with the workforce currently at approximately 400 employees.

Patria CEO Panu Routila highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating that without this collaboration, Patria would have had to seek a manufacturing partner abroad. The agreement allows Patria to meet rising demand by utilizing the increased production capacity provided by the Uusikaupunki facility.
