VALOR Group to redevelop Abcoude fire station into luxury housing

The former fire station at Brandweerplein in Abcoude will be redeveloped into three high-end residences by the Amsterdam-based real estate developer VALOR Group. The project, which involves a municipal monument, is expected to be completed around the summer of 2027.

Expected sale prices for the new homes range from approximately 640,000 euros to 1.2 million euros. This outcome marks the end of a local initiative titled ‘Jonge toekomst voor oude kazerne’, in which six young residents of Abcoude proposed transforming the historic building into six sustainable starter apartments. Despite a petition and support from the local political party LEF, the commercial development by VALOR Group was selected over the community-driven plan for affordable housing.
