Valor Mortis gameplay details revealed ahead of October launch

Lyrical Games has released a gameplay overview trailer for Valor Mortis, a first-person Soulslike developed by One More Level, the creators of Ghostrunner. The game is scheduled to launch on October 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and Steam, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its release day.

Set in an alternate-history Europe ravaged by war and the Crimson Plague, players control William, a character who rises from the dead to answer the call of an Emperor. The gameplay features swift, violent combat involving stamina management, parrying, and a variety of weapons such as the Claymore and the Musket.

Key mechanics include Transmutations, which allow the protagonist to use abilities like fire or grappling hooks, and Catalysts, which act as perk points to enhance specific properties. Additionally, build-altering Ambers provide significant benefits with inherent trade-offs. A Deluxe Edition priced at $59.99 will include a major story DLC and various cosmetic packs.
