One More Level releases Valor Mortis Soulslike

One More Level, the developer of the Ghostrunner series, has released Valor Mortis, a first-person Soulslike action RPG. Published by Lyrical Games, the title is available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and is included in the Xbox Game Pass catalog.

Set in a supernatural reimagining of 19th-century Europe, the game follows William Dowsett, a soldier of Napoleon’s Grande Armée who is resurrected following his death on the battlefield. Players must navigate a world ravaged by a mysterious plague known as Nephtoglobin, which transforms humans into grotesque monsters. Guided by the disembodied voice of Napoleon, the protagonist uses a combination of swords, firearms, and supernatural abilities to fight through corrupted battlefields and cities.

The launch includes a Deluxe Edition featuring a major story DLC planned for next year, as well as various cosmetic packs. The game features voice acting from Vincent Cassel, who portrays Napoleon, and Jennifer English, who voices The Shrike. Developers have also announced plans for free updates and a ‘New Game+’ mode scheduled for late 2026.
