VALORANT confirmed for 2027 Esports World Cup

Riot Games' tactical shooter VALORANT has been officially confirmed for its third consecutive appearance in the Esports World Cup (EWC) for the 2027 season. This announcement follows a period of significant restructuring within the game's competitive ecosystem, which will implement more open qualification mechanisms for elite tournaments.

The confirmation follows the 2026 EWC held in Paris, where the North American organization 100 Thieves secured the title with an undefeated playoff run, defeating MIBR. LOS, Nongshim RedForce, and NRG in the final. This victory preceded 100 Thieves' success in VCT Americas Stage 2.

Additionally, the 2026 competitive season saw a historic achievement for the Brazilian organization LOUD, which won the VALORANT Champions in Shanghai, China. LOUD became the first organization in the game's history to win two world championships with entirely different rosters, marking a significant recovery after a difficult start to their season.
