Valoriza bids for Nostián plant as Bogotá seeks water reuse permits
In Spain, Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales has emerged as the sole bidder for the concession of the Nostián recycling plant. This follows a second attempt by the local government to secure a contract for a modern facility to replace the current plant, which has been managed under an expired contract by Albada since January 2020. Valoriza, currently owned by Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, previously provided emergency waste collection services during a 2024 strike.
In Colombia, the Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá is seeking environmental permits to reuse treated wastewater from the Salitre plant for industrial, construction, and irrigation purposes. The initiative aims to secure water resources for the city in anticipation of the El Niño phenomenon. The Ministry of Environment is currently evaluating the request, with technical inspections expected to follow.
