Valpaços honors futsal coach Jorge Braz with municipal pavilion naming
The municipality of Valpaços has honored Portuguese national futsal coach Jorge Braz by naming the city's municipal pavilion after him. The ceremony also included the unveiling of a sculpture commemorating his career and achievements.
Braz, who was born in Edmonton, Canada, but grew up in the village of Sonim within the Valpaços municipality, expressed deep emotion during the event. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a connection to one's origins and the value of emotional intelligence in decision-making.
The ceremony was attended by several officials, including the Secretary of State for Sport, Pedro Dias, and the executive director of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Vasco Pinho.
