Valpaços opens new caravan park to boost tourism

The Municipality of Valpaços has opened a new caravan park spanning approximately 1,300 square meters. Designed to accommodate caravans and motorhomes, the facility features eight parking and stay spaces, lighting, and landscaping.

The park includes a reception area, sanitary facilities, and changing rooms, with specific accommodations for people with reduced mobility. It also provides a service station for potable water supply, wastewater discharge, and waste disposal. For convenience, a digital check-in kiosk allows for 24-hour autonomous registration.

Constructed using local materials such as regional granite, the park is integrated into the urban fabric of Valpaços, situated near local commerce, restaurants, and services. The project was funded by Turismo de Portugal through the ‘Programa Valorizar’ via the Interior Tourism Valorization Support Line. Jorge Mata Pires, President of the Valpaços Municipal Chamber, stated that the infrastructure aims to improve visitor conditions and support the municipality's strategy for tourism and economic revitalization.
