Goiânia sees rise in international tourism led by US and Argentina
A recent survey by the Goiânia Municipal Tourism and Events Agency (GoiâniaTur) reveals that international visitors accounted for 5.93% of tourists in Goiânia during July. The United States and Argentina were the leading countries of origin, representing 1.98% and 0.85% of the total visitors, respectively.
Other notable countries represented in the survey included Germany, Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Spain, France, England, Portugal, and Switzerland. The data was collected through interviews at the Goiânia International Airport, the bus terminal, and the local zoo.
Vinícius Gomes, president of GoiâniaTur, noted that the city's international profile is growing, citing the hosting of the MotoGP Brazil Grand Prix in March as a key factor in placing the capital on the global radar. The survey is part of an annual plan involving 1,500 interviews to help guide municipal public policies for the tourism sector.
