Valparaíso farmers participate in Cerro de Sabores festival

Twenty-five farmers from the Valparaíso Region participated in the seventh edition of the ‘Cerro de Sabores’ gastronomic festival held at the Valparaíso Passenger Terminal. Through the INDAP Peasant Market, local producers showcased a diverse range of regional goods, including fresh vegetables, processed foods, quinoa, spices, charqui, honey, olive oil, artisanal goat cheeses, and ornamental plants.

Christopher Newcomb, acting regional director of INDAP, emphasized that these events are vital for strengthening commercialization channels. He noted that the festival provides a platform for small-scale producers to present their work directly to urban consumers, creating new market opportunities and highlighting the traditions behind regional agricultural production.
