Valparaíso hosts 15th TPS Media Maratón with 4,000 participants

The 15th edition of the TPS Media Maratón in Valparaíso drew more than 4,000 participants for a series of races including 2K, 10K, and a modified 17K distance. The route was adjusted from the traditional 21K to 17K to ensure participant safety following street damage caused by recent weather events.

The event featured unique segments through the port area, including running near cranes and containers at the terminal, before heading toward Caleta Portales and returning via Avenida Errázuriz to the finish line at Plaza Sotomayor.

Due to the race, significant traffic disruptions and road closures were implemented throughout the city. Major affected areas included Avenida España, Errázuriz, and Plaza Aduana, with restrictions lasting from early morning until mid-afternoon to allow for the safe passage of athletes.
