Valparaíso port expects 25% increase in cruise arrivals for 2026-2027 season

The Port of Valparaíso is preparing for the 2026-2027 cruise season, with an expected 25% increase in vessel arrivals compared to the previous cycle. Officials anticipate surpassing 900 passenger ship calls and a cumulative total of 1.5 million visitors since the 1999-2000 season.

The season is scheduled to officially begin on October 17 with the arrival of the Fridtjof Nansen at the Terminal Portuario Valparaíso (TPV) and conclude on April 15, 2027, with the departure of the Roald Amundsen. Notable arrivals include the large-scale vessel Majestic Princess, alongside the debut of three new ships in local waters: the Queen Anne, Spirit of Adventure, and Discoverer.

Franco Gandolfo, general manager of Puerto Valparaíso, stated that the season demonstrates the city's appeal as an international tourism destination through collaborative work between port actors, maritime authorities, and the local community. The industry is expected to stimulate local commerce, gastronomy, and tourism.
