Valparaíso Regional Government unveils climate action plan draft

The Valparaíso Regional Government has introduced a draft for the Regional Climate Change Action Plan (PARCC). During the second session of the Regional Climate Change Committee (CORECC) in 2026, regional governor Rodrigo Mundaca presented the proposal to public and private organizations.

The plan focuses on measures for climate change adaptation and mitigation, with a significant emphasis on regional water security in both urban and rural areas. The CORECC, which includes sectoral authorities and civil society representatives, is responsible for coordinating the implementation of this plan to move the region toward carbon neutrality and increased resilience.
