Valparaíso to host XI International Jazz Festival

Valparaíso will host the XI International Jazz Festival from August 17 to 22. The event features a free program designed to integrate music with the city's urban landscape, including concerts, street interventions, cinema, masterclasses, and jam sessions.

Activities will take place across various locations, such as schools, plazas, theaters, and cultural spaces, to strengthen the connection between music and citizenship. Major concerts are scheduled at the Teatro Municipal de Valparaíso, while jam sessions will be held at Bar La Morada and Estrella Negra Club de Jazz. The festival concludes on August 22 with ‘Terrazas a la Calle’ at Subida Cumming.

Recognizing Valparaíso as a UNESCO Creative City of Music, the festival continues a local jazz tradition dating back to 1924. Featured artists include Panteras Negras from Salvador de Bahía, Brazil, alongside La Brígida Orquesta Instrumental, Antonio Monasterio Ensamble, Mapocho Orquesta, Fabiola Campos Cuarteto, and Luz Cuadros Sexteto.
