Valéria Jíchová joins Czech youth handball team at World Championship

Valéria Jíchová, born in 2009, is the daughter of legendary Czech handball player Filip Jícha. After a childhood spent in basketball and dance, she took up handball in her garden and quickly rose through the ranks. She now plays as a left back for the Czech under‑19 national team.

At the Youth World Championship in Romania, Valéria contributed to a 42‑16 victory over Mexico and a narrow 23‑24 loss to South Korea. She praised the experience of her first senior international appearance and looks forward to future matches.

Her father, a two‑time Champions League winner, supports her career without pressure, emphasizing her own passion for the sport.
