Valérie Dittli leaves Mitte party to found Mouvement libéral

Valérie Dittli, a member of the Vaud cantonal government responsible for agriculture and digitalization, has announced her departure from the Mitte party to found her own political group, the Mouvement libéral. Dittli stated that her decision follows a breakdown in dialogue with the party, specifically citing disagreements over the procedures for delegate assemblies.

Simultaneously, the Lavaux-Oron section of the Mitte party has accused Dittli of attempting to close a bank account containing 22,000 Swiss francs and transfer the funds. Dittli has denied these allegations, asserting that the account was established by members of the Lavaux-Oron section to allow supporters to contribute to her candidacy in a transparent manner. She maintains she did not attempt to contact the Waadtländer Kantonalbank to facilitate the transfer. The party has sought a legal opinion to clarify the responsibilities regarding the incident.
