Valérie Ékoumè to perform Afropop at Argentiera festival

French-Cameroonian singer Valérie Ékoumè will perform her project ‘La Danse de l’Éléphant’ at the Spiaggia Grande dell’Argentiera in Sassari, Italy, on August 18. The event is part of the 26th edition of the ‘Musica sulle Bocche’ festival, directed by Enzo Favata.

Ékoumè’s musical style blends Afropop, rock, and traditional Cameroonian rhythms, including Assiko, Manganbeu, Makossa, and Essèwè. The performance features Guy Nwogang on drums and percussion and incorporates the NKUL, an ancient Central African instrument. The tour follows international appearances in Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Morocco, and Singapore.
