Valters Kreišs Sets Championship Record in Latvian Pole Vault
Valters Kreišs won the men's pole‑vault at the Latvian Athletics Championships in Valmiera with a best clearance of 5.42 m (5.62 m on his first attempt). The performance earned him 1,162 points on the World Athletics scoring tables, the highest mark recorded at the competition. The championships also saw Oskars Grava break the national 200‑metre record (20.49 s), Paula Kļaviņa win the women's pole‑vault (3.81 m), and a range of other national titles across jumps, throws and distance events.
