Valtournenche celebrates local youth winter sports athletes

Valtournenche hosted a sports celebration at the Breuil-Cervinia sports field to honor local young winter sports athletes. Organized by the municipal administration under the Gran Becca banner, the event brought together over 400 members from various local clubs, including Monte Cervino, Azzurri del Cervino, Club de Ski, and Future Snow.

Chantal Vuillermoz, the municipal councilor for tourism, sport, and mountain, emphasized the role of sport as a tool for social inclusion. The evening featured Olympic silver medalist Lorenzo Sommeriva, who shared his experiences with the emerging athletes. Additionally, local clubs presented inclusive projects, such as 'Happinesski' by Club de Ski, designed to integrate athletes with disabilities, and initiatives by Azzurri del Cervino to support deaf athletes.
