Valtteri Bottas calls for improved performance at Cadillac F1

Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas has called for a shift in mentality at Cadillac, stating the team must strive for more than just competing on the grid. After 12 rounds of the season, the team has yet to score points, with Bottas’s 13th-place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix serving as its best result. The team has recently struggled with reliability issues involving brakes and overheating, while also falling behind in the midfield standings.

In response to these challenges, Cadillac CEO Dan Towriss replaced team principal Graeme Lowdon with Marcin Budkowski during the summer break. Budkowski, who brings a strong engineering background from previous roles at Alpine and McLaren, is expected to provide a new technical perspective. Bottas expressed support for the leadership change, emphasizing that the team must focus on seeing tangible progress on the timing sheets to avoid stagnation.
