Valtteri Bottas puts out brake fire and retires from Hungarian Grand Prix
During the opening half of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Valtteri Bottas's left‑front brake ignited. He escaped the car, grabbed the on‑board fire extinguisher and sprayed the flames, then stopped his car at the pit‑lane entrance after the brakes were completely lost.
Sergio Pérez also retired from the race. The victory went to McLaren driver Lando Norris. Bottas, who moved to Cadillac this season, recorded his best finish of 13th place at the Chinese Grand Prix and has suffered five retirements so far. The Formula 1 calendar now moves on to the Dutch Grand Prix in mid‑August.
