Valtteri Bottas reacts to Cadillac dismissal of Graeme Lowdon

Valtteri Bottas has commented on the sudden departure of Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon, describing the mid-season change as surprising to both himself and the Formula 1 paddock.

Bottas noted that while the dismissal was unexpected, he understands the necessity for change to address stagnating development and recurring technical issues, such as overheating brakes. He expressed respect for Lowdon’s work in preparing the team for its debut, stating, “He’s done a great job setting up the team, getting ready to be on the grid in the first race.”

Following discussions with CEO Dan Towriss, Bottas indicated that the reasons for the decision were explained to him. He suggested that maintaining the status quo would prevent progress, though he remained cautious about the long-term impact of the leadership shift, noting that “time will always tell” whether the change proves beneficial.
