Valtteri Bottas faces ongoing struggles with Cadillac in 2024 F1 season
Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas returned to Formula 1 in 2024 with the American Cadillac team, pairing with teammate Sergio Pérez. Across the first seven races he has retired three times and achieved a best finish of 13th in China, while Pérez leads the internal head‑to‑head 5‑2 in both qualifying and races.
Bottas said the main causes are the car’s inconsistent setup – “some parts of the car often feel different to what you expect” – and a lengthy break between early‑season events that limited track time. Rumours about his future at the team have been dismissed by Cadillac, and Bottas expressed hope that a tighter race calendar will allow the crew to understand and resolve the issues.
