Valve and Steam data leak exposes 12TB of gaming content

A massive data leak involving over 12 terabytes of information from the Steam platform has surfaced online. The leak reportedly contains data published on the platform between 2003 and 2013, including beta versions and completed titles from Valve and various independent developers.

Included in the leak are major Valve titles such as Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, and Portal, as well as high-profile exclusives like Call of Duty, Fallout, and Civilization. Researchers have identified details regarding an unreleased Valve project known as ‘F-Stop,’ which reportedly involves a camera mechanic capable of manipulating real-world objects. Additionally, data related to the cancelled Half-Life 2: Episode 3 has been discovered.

A GitHub catalog has been created to compile the leaked titles. Reports suggest the breach may have occurred due to a publicly available access point used by Valve prior to 2013. Valve has not yet issued an official response to the incident.
