Valve Steam Frame VR headset details leaked via instructional videos

A series of official instructional videos for Valve’s upcoming Steam Frame VR headset were accidentally leaked via an ARM Steam client update. The videos, which were briefly available before being pulled, provide a detailed look at the device’s unboxing, setup, and ergonomic features.

Technical specifications revealed include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 16GB of RAM, and LCD screens with 2160 x 2160 resolution per eye. The headset is designed for both standalone use and high-end PC VR streaming via a dedicated 6GHz wireless dongle. Key ergonomic features include adjustable pivot arms, a magnetic face gasket with an optional spacer for glasses wearers, and an interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment wheel with a sliding lock.

Additional modular accessories appear to be sold separately, including hand straps, a rigid head strap, and an extended light blocker. While Valve has indicated a summer release window, the exact price remains unannounced. However, industry reports suggest high costs due to a global DRAM shortage and rising component prices, potentially leading to a premium price point.
