Steam launches Scream Fest V horror sale

Valve has launched Steam Scream Fest V, a week-long sale focused on horror and Halloween-themed titles. The event runs from October 26 through November 2, 2026.

Several horror-related releases and updates coincide with the festival. DarkStone Digital has released Playable Archive, a free psychological horror experience by the creator of The Mortuary Assistant, on Steam. Additionally, boutique publisher SNEG and Andrew Spencer Studios have announced the digital restoration and release of the classic survival horror adventures Ecstatica and Ecstatica 2 on Steam and GOG.

In the indie sector, Deranged Games has updated the public playtest for LAG KILLS, introducing an inventory system, new hiding spots, and performance optimizations. This update serves as the final solo-experience test before development shifts toward cooperative multiplayer modes.
