Valve updates Counter-Strike 2 with chat encryption and map fixes

Valve has released a new update for Counter-Strike 2 that introduces chat encryption to prevent the public display of offensive language in match replays. Previously, third-party tracking tools were able to scan and display chat logs from past matches, leading to the creation of leaderboards that ranked players based on the frequency of offensive terms used. This phenomenon encouraged some players to use vitriol as a form of competition.

Under the new rules, chat in demo files is encrypted similarly to the previous CS:GO system. Team communications are now entirely unviewable during demo playback, and global chat is only readable when accessed through the in-game watch interface.

The update also includes significant technical adjustments to the map Cache, such as fixing gaps and wallbang spots, and adding new spawn points for both terrorist and counter-terrorist teams. Additional changes include map scripting improvements and new player camera control commands.
