Vammo appoints former GM and Stellantis executive Carlos Zarlenga to board
Electric mobility startup Vammo has appointed Carlos Zarlenga to its Board of Directors to support its national expansion in Brazil. Zarlenga, an Argentine executive who previously held leadership roles at General Motors and Stellantis in Latin America, will focus on three strategic areas: financial structuring for future fundraising, supply chain management, and strengthening relationships with governments and the automotive industry.
Founded in 2022 by Jack Sarvary, the creator of Rappi, Vammo operates a subscription-based model for electric motorcycles. The company utilizes a battery-swapping infrastructure to minimize charging downtime, primarily targeting delivery professionals. Vammo assembles its vehicles at a plant in Manaus using components imported from China.
The company reported a 188% growth in its active customer base, reaching approximately 8,000 users. With a fleet exceeding 9,000 vehicles, Vammo aims to expand its reach across new regions in 2027 and eventually enter other Latin American markets.
