Van economic developments: TSO candidacy and livestock OSB project

In Van, Turkey, significant developments are underway regarding the local economy and the Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Van TSO). İrem Bayram has officially announced her candidacy for the presidency of Van TSO. Her platform, titled ‘New Economy Generation’, focuses on transforming Van into a regional logistics and distribution hub through projects like ‘Central Van’, which includes licensed warehousing, cold chain infrastructure, and international transfer centers.

Simultaneously, progress has been made on the Van Livestock Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) project. Spanning 3,746 decares across the Gevaş, Gürpınar, and Edremit districts, the project aims for completion by the end of 2027. Once operational, the facility is expected to house approximately 53,600 cattle and create employment for roughly 3,000 people. The integrated site will feature meat integration facilities, a biogas plant, a feed factory, a leather processing plant, and cold storage units.
