Van agricultural initiatives showcase fruit production and grafting success

In the Van province of Turkey, local agricultural efforts are highlighting both cooperative production and innovative grafting techniques. In the Tuşba district, the Hevpar Women's Cooperative, supported by the Tuşba Municipality, has completed its first harvest of apples and hawthorn. The cooperative aims to increase women's economic participation by processing these fruits into natural vinegar for sale.

In the Edremit district, 75-year-old farmer Hasan Yurtbay has successfully transformed five decares of previously barren land into a fruit orchard. Through grafting Amasya apple trees with Argentine varieties, Yurtbay has achieved the rare result of growing two different colors and types of apples—red and green—on the branches of a single tree.
