Van Chan to host 2026 Shan Tuyet Tea Festival
The 2026 Shan Tuyet Tea Festival is scheduled to take place from September 25 to September 27 in the Suoi Giang and Pang Cang areas of Van Chan. This event serves as a key component of the 2026 Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival, aiming to promote the heritage of ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees, local OCOP products, and the traditional culture of ethnic groups, particularly the Hmong people.
Key activities include a tea culture space recreation, traditional and modern tea brewing performances, and a ceremony to honor the Ancestral Tea Tree. The festival will also feature a highland culinary market, a Shan Tuyet tea banquet, and ethnic costume competitions. To boost trade, organizers plan to include live streaming sessions for manual tea roasting and online sales to connect local producers directly with consumers. Other cultural highlights include beeswax pattern painting, traditional folk games, and tea harvesting experiences.
