Van City Stadium demolition begins for new sports complex

Demolition work is underway at the Atatürk City Stadium in Van to make way for a new stadium and life complex. Following a demolition tender by the Van Investment Monitoring and Coordination Presidency (YIKOB) on August 10, work began on August 19.

A construction tender for the new Van City Stadium has also reached a significant milestone, with 22 firms submitting bids. The lowest bid reported is approximately 2.345 billion TL. Once the evaluation process is finalized and the contract is signed, the project is expected to be completed within 700 days.

The planned facility will have a capacity of approximately 15,000 spectators and will include training halls, social areas, shops, cafes, restaurants, and a 1,500-vehicle indoor parking lot. Due to the ongoing construction, Vanspor FK is currently playing its home matches at the Spor Toto Akhisar Stadium in Manisa.
