Van Cleef & Arpels introduces pink enamel Alhambra collection

Van Cleef & Arpels has introduced a new pink translucent enamel iteration for its iconic Alhambra collection. This update marks a shift from using natural gemstones, such as onyx or carnelian, to a color achieved through specialized enameling techniques.

The new pink hue is inspired by the 17th-century ‘Rouge à l’or’ (gold-red enamel) craft. The process involves controlling gold particles within a glass base to create varying shades of pink, red, or magenta. Artisans utilize over 15 different enameling techniques to achieve the desired transparency, depth, and light refraction.

The collection includes various pieces such as pendants, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, all featuring the signature four-leaf clover motif set in gold.
