Van Gogh Alive immersive exhibition to arrive in Zagreb

The multisensory immersive exhibition ‘Van Gogh Alive’ is scheduled to arrive at the Zagreb Fair, specifically in Pavilion 10 A, from November 6 until the end of January. Created by Grande Experiences, the project has previously been viewed by over 11 million people across 115 cities worldwide.

Rather than a traditional art viewing, the exhibition uses more than 3,000 large-scale visuals, music, and scents to allow visitors to ‘step into’ the paintings of Vincent van Gogh. The experience includes reconstructed locations such as the streets of 19th-century Montmartre, the Night Café in Arles, and Van Gogh’s bedroom in Saint-Rémy.

In addition to the main spectacle, the Zagreb event will feature ‘Finding Vincent,’ an interactive walk through the artist's life. While the exhibition aims to educate and inspire through a blend of art, history, and technology, some critics have questioned whether such displays represent the democratization of art or merely serve as high-priced backdrops for social media.
