Van Halen announces standalone release of 1986 New Haven concert

Van Halen is releasing a standalone live album titled ‘Live in New Haven 1986,’ capturing the band’s performance at the New Haven Veterans Memorial Coliseum on August 27, 1986. The recording, which runs over 90 minutes, documents the ‘Van Hagar’ era following the departure of frontman David Lee Roth and the arrival of Sammy Hagar.

The release follows the success of the band’s 1986 studio album, ‘5150,’ which was recorded at Eddie Van Halen’s 5150 Studios and became the band’s first to reach number one on the Billboard 200. The live set features tracks from ‘5150,’ such as ‘Why Can’t This Be Love’ and ‘Best of Both Worlds,’ alongside classic hits like ‘Panama’ and ‘Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love.’
