Van Lake hosts 12th annual Water Sports Festival

The 12th Van Sea Water Sports Festival has commenced at the Edremit-Gebze Water Sports Center on Van Lake. Organized by the Van Governor's Office, the Metropolitan Municipality, and the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, the event aims to promote the region's tourism and water sports potential.

The festival features various activities, including rafting, rowing, canoeing, beach volleyball, handball, and dragon boat racing. Notable performances include flyboard shows and underwater displays by divers.

Van Deputy Governor Mehmet Miraç Topaloğlu emphasized the importance of sports in empowering youth and fostering social unity. Separately, the Van Lake Basin Tourism Association held a program with tourism representatives from Northern Iraq to establish a tourism corridor, focusing on Van's culinary, health, and cultural heritage to increase bilateral visitor numbers.
