Van MAT-BİL project students achieve high university placement success

The Van MAT-BİL project, led by Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, has yielded significant results as its participants successfully placed into prestigious universities following the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS).

Launched in 2022, the initiative, titled ‘Today’s Science, Tomorrow’s Technology,’ aims to increase interest in mathematics and develop analytical thinking and digital literacy among high school students. The program provides advanced mathematics and computer science training to approximately 120 students from science high schools in the Van region.

Notable successes include Bilal Aşkan, who ranked first in Turkey in the Field Proficiency Tests (AYT) with a perfect score, and Defne Akkol, who placed 367th in the numerical field and was admitted to Boğaziçi University for Computer Engineering. Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Şevli met with the successful students to celebrate their achievements and discuss their future academic goals.
